Classical Portrait Style Dead? I don't think so

It is rare that a MUA gets in front of the camera to do a shoot, but “Q” Makeup Artist did and man did we capture some great stuff.

Had an opportunity to shoot Christy, one of my fellow photogs who is just as comfortable and proficient in front of the camera as she is behind the camera. We took a week long class at Texas School and decieded to try out what we learned while it was still fresh. It was a great shoot!

Vintage Caribbean Style beachwear with Ebony McKinney. Ebony’s style and poise made this a very easy shoot and straight out of the 50’s style pin-up.

Another Pam Grier inspired style with Latasha Roach. This also reminded me of that 70’s show, “Get Christy Love” with Teresa Graves.

When I was growing up, a lot of my male friends had posters of Pam Grier. She was an actress that starred in several blaxplotation films in the 70’s. She was sexy but also had style and swagger. I’ve always wanted to recreate some of her images and add my flare. Recenty I met Latasha that had that 70’s afro that really reminded me of Pam Grier, so we worked together to recreate some of her looks. Latasha is really pulled it off as this was one of the signature looks.

Some lifestyle portraits require some props that reflect the actual lifestyle. It was a royal pain getting this Harley in the studio, but the results were well worth effort it took to make it happen. Alicia was the icing on the Harley making it come to life with class and beauty.

Alicia has an likeness to the Angelina Jolie’s Evelyn Salt character from the movie SALT. This is the boudiour style of Classical High Key Portraiture.

African beauty Judy is tall, athletic and beautiful. She is very personable and just plain fun to work with. Amanda Gleason (http://amandagleason.com) did an awesome job on her makeup.

Classic style in an unconventional shape and size, Dia Monroe is quite the definition of style, shape and class. She is absolutely wonderful to work with and a lot of fun.
